The Society holds annual competitions, and a trophy is awarded to the best entry in each class. There are many competitions covering a great any aspects of philately including: stamps, postal history, thematics, open class and more. The entries are judged by visitors from another society in the region.
At present competitions for Society Members are held in the following subjects:
On the first Wednesday in January
- Postal History
- Great Britain
- Cinderella
- First Timers
- Open Class
- Thematic
On the first Wednesday in April
- 35 Year Trophy
- Transportation of Mail
- Foreign
- Commonwealth
- 16 Sheet in any class
